Good post, thank you. I’m not a fan of the Macro/Micro labels; it just creates more ambiguity around an already ambiguous term: UX. But your description of the roles, their importance, and how they differ is spot on. Off the top of my head I’d label the roles as Product Strategy (Macro) and UI Design (Micro).
